The first thing I needed to do was to make the frame. I used 20 mm white plumbing pipe from a DIY shop.  I then had to make a 3 joint elbow.  I did this by drilling a hole into a 90º elbow and adding a 20 mm extension bit.

I filled the end holes in with a child's juice bottle cap.

I then put the elbow joints together.

I made a 155º bend by bending it over a vice.

When I got the main boxes they were both black and un-trimmed.  I had to spray the two bottom boxes with grey primer to make the main coat apply better.

For the main coat I used Country Blue As you can see it looks slightly purple, but in fact it is very much the colour as the field packs from Star Wars ANH.

Next I had to mount the two main boxes onto the frame which I had spray painted black.

I made the bee stinger with a plastic plant tray and a washing powder tub.

I then assembled the parts together.

The final part was to weather the pack.
